Past Cars: 1977 Mercedes-Benz 240D

This was my delivery vehicle in between the 1981 Datsun 210 and my current 1980 Ford Fiesta. I bought it from a guy who I worked with at the Jonesborough Papa Johns. It needed new belts and some work here and there to get it running properly. It got pretty good fuel mileage for a midsize car since it was a diesel. I eventually had some trouble with it overheating and also it had some rust in the firewall and floorpans and a few other areas... so I was really happy to be able to trade it even for my 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham Coupe. I had much less money in this Mercedes than I think the Delta 88 is worth. It was fun seeing all the looks I got driving a Mercedes though... and the electric sunroof was nice too (with some greasing it worked like a charm). Oh and yes that is a rather large hole that has been cut in the hood by the previous owner - had a bad vacuum pump and this was how he would choke the engine off to cut the car off - if you are really curious about the story write to me and I'll tell you more.
