Ol' Blue, My 1962 Ford F100 Unibody Pickup

I bought Ol' Blue during the winter of 1998. Actually it was Ol' Black when I first bought it ;-)... and it was originally Ol' Red when new ;-)... I paid $200 for the truck and drove it home. The motor had a knock in it... but the body is fairly solid. The hood and the driverside door are a little beat up... but the rest of the truck is decent. This truck has no options... it has the base 230-something cubic inch inline six cylinder... it has the manual three speed on the collumn transmission... it has manual brakes... manual steering... and no door locks. It does have this really cool back window with the Ford oval etched into the glass... really sweet looking. This was one of those "impulse" buys... and looking back on it I probably SHOULDN'T have bought it... but what the hey... everyone needs a truck right?

Soon after buying the truck... we decided it deserved some

paint at least we could make it all one color. Decided to do a two tone (mostly because Wal-Mart didn't have enough spray cans of either color to do the whole truck), invested about 15 bucks into spray paint... and did it right outside in front of my then apartment. It actually came out looking pretty decent... at least a lot better than it looked before!

Ol' Blue came in really handy later that winter on a couple of occasions... first when we got a major amount of snow... it went really well through the snow... and kept me from risking my other cars... also it came in handy when my dad was borrowing my Cutlass for a couple of months while his Volvo was kaputsk... The Bonneville didn't have working windshield wipers... so when it rained the only other thing I had to drive was the truck! Just recently... the engine... which had been getting worse ever since I first bought the truck... finally died. Ol' Blue is sitting right now... while I find another engine for it... haven't decided yet if I'm going to go to a V8... or if I'll find another I-6.

When I get it running again this page will be updated... More pics to come though probably...
