1965 Pontiac Bonneville
The 1965 Pontiac Bonneville
The best car ever... ?!?! That's a tough question...
But if I could go back in time and buy any car brand new... I believe that my
destination would be 1965... and my source Pontiac. A well engineered car...
with a combination of some of the most stylish lines to come out of the 1960's...
a generous powerplant... even to the standards of a gearhead like me :-)...
luxurious interior appointments... and a smooth ride and quick handling which
you just can't find in a new car today. A bit of a behemoth by today's standards...
I still find... from personal experience... the Bonneville quite agile and easy to
park as well. The car handles nearly as well as my mother's Saab 900 after you
learn how to "make" it handle... the 4 wheel drum brakes are much much much better
than even the front disc setup on my '79 Cutlass... one of the best stopping cars
I've ever owned... power enough to leave any 4 cylinder euro-sedan in your wake :-).
Yep... if not the "BEST" car ever... I believe that the '65 Bonny is pretty high up
on the list.
